What type of assay is INNOVATIO ND2™?
It is an Enzyme Linked Immunoassay (ELISA) that uses highly specific monoclonal antibodies for the detection of the levels of three (3) specific proteins or biomarkers (APO4, CD5L, IgFP3), clinically linked to impaired kidney function in patients with type 2 diabetes, in patient’s plasma samples.
This assay uses the capture technique (sandwich type), where plates are coated with a monoclonal antibody that specifically traps each biomarker.
How long doES IT TAKE TO GET the results?
The ELISA assay time can take up to a maximum of 5 hours, including preparation times, incubations, construction of the curves, etc.
It is important to take into account that in order to obtain the result report, we use web based algorithm that calculates the risk using 7 variables, including the following

HDL cholesterol

eGFR (estimated glomerular filtration rate), the specific formula is indicated in the training processes.

This is important to consider since the total time will depend on how long it takes the
laboratory to have these complementary tests. -
The recommendation is to take all the
necessary blood samples at the same time. -
The connection to the web to upload the patient´s data takes several minutes, the platform being available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
What is the specificity and sensitivity of the test?
The test has been improved over time, the latest version being highly specific and sensitive with
85% and 86% respectively (dated May 2020).
