what is innovatio ND2?

A test of specific biomarkers linked to the onset of Nephropathy (Kidney Disease) in Type 2 diabetic patients.

INNOVATIO ND2™: is an ELISA test developed and validated by Omics Global Solutions, under a technology transfer from Proteomics International and its algorithm PromarkerD™.

This technology allows to Identify the risk of developing Diabetic Kidney Disease up to 4 years in advance (prognostic and also can confirm if patients already have the condition  (diagnostic).

What is the test for?

INNOVATIO ND2™ is used as a Predictive tool, based on the risk of developing diabetic kidney disease over time, allowing doctors to set a preventive plan to help patients to avoid ending in Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD),. risk levels are shown as low, medium, or high which indicates the frequency of re-testing and the level of urgency to follow.

INNOVATIO ND2™ also reveals a diagnostic score that helps doctors to confirm if the patient is having the condition at the moment

In the case of a patient who already has CKD, the Prognostic Score indicates the "speed" of potential renal function deterioration.

How the test works?

The research and development team carried out studies for years in patients with Type 2 Diabetes, in the search for proteins (biomarkers). 3 proteins were identified that are directly linked to progressive kidney damage. These proteins (which are read in each patient´s blood sample), are combined with 2 other clinical variables and processed in an algorithm, which yields the results that the patient receives to share with their doctor.

The result gives Diagnostic and Prognosis ranges. The Diagnostic value shows the risk of having Nephropathy at the time of taking the test. On the other hand, the Prognostic value, perhaps the most important, will show you the risk of developing the condition over time. Both parameters are presented on a Low, Medium, or High-risk scale. This reading is very important, since, with the obtained range, PREVENTIVE measures can be implemented and the result of these measures can be evaluated with high precision in subsequent tests.

Know that the sensitivity of this test is very high, which allows changes made through medical recommendations between one take and the next to be reflected in your results; This means that modifying risk factors under medical recommendations, will have a direct impact on your next results and in this way you can continue making adjustments to the chosen preventive plan.
